Challenges Experienced by Teachers in Implementing the Pre-Primary Education in Zanzibar

This study examined challenges experienced by teachers while implementing PPE in Zanzibar. The employed qualitative methodology and a case design. A total number of 18 respondents participated the where nine were pre-primary school teachers, six head three quality assurance officers from Ministry Education. Data was collected using focus group discussion, semi structured interviews documents. concluded that inadequate teaching learning materials, low parental involvement, in-adequate training, shortage qualified economic status, play grounds, learners’ disciplinary behavioral issues overcrowded classrooms key encountered implementation curriculum. recommends government authorities oversee Zanzibar should provide in-service training opportunities for to be well prepared handle more effectively. Relevant ensure construction match with enrollment ratios. Furthermore, there is need sensitize parents get involved their children’s affairs better outcomes realized.
